Mobile phones users subscription in Bahrain from 2008 – 2014 grow by 9.32%

Secretary General of GEF (Gulf E-Commerce Forum) Hussain Al-Mahdi & chairman of the 4th organization committee of GEF stated that from 2008 to 2014 the forecast subscription of mobile users in Bahrain is grown by 9.32%. He also noticed that these forecast standing on the third position of the GCC States (Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf) also mentioned that at the GCC level, mobile phone subscriptions will grow by 8.27% during this period. He said it is also expected that the rate of penetration would reach 170% by 2014, compared 2008 is 100%.

In Press Hussain Al Mahdi talked about landline subscriptions in Bahrain is are expected to realize 3.81% CAGR from 2008 to 2014 compared with 3.29% CAGR at the GCC level.

Therefore the development of the sixth GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) is show the ranking of eight countries in Arab. The ranking, which assesses UN member states on their application of information and communication technologies to serve and interact with citizens, was released in February 2010.

Bahrain has smoothly improved its United Nations E-Government ranking and Jumped this year at the top of Arab Countries. Standing at the 3rd on Asia and the 3th globally. In 2008 Bahrain ranking was 42nd globally & 8th in Asia.
